About Us
La Leche League is an international, non-profit, non-sectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to all people who want to breastfeed, chestfeed, nurse, and human milk feed. Accredited by La Leche League International, volunteer Leaders are experienced nursing parents who are familiar with current research in all aspects of breastfeeding.
La Leche League USA helps parents, families, and communities to breastfeed, chestfeed, and human milk feed their babies through parent-to-parent support. LLL USA encourages, informs, educates, supports, and promotes the use of human milk and the intimate relationship and development that comes from nursing a child for as long as mutually desired.
La Leche League of Iowa is incorporated in the State of Iowa as a non-profit corporation and is exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Our support group meetings and volunteer Leader help services are provided at no cost. La Leche League of Iowa receives financial support through your donations. If you would like to donate, you may do so here on our paypal link, at your local support group, or on local group social media pages. La Leche League of Iowa offers free mother-to-mother and parent-to-parent support through group meetings at locations and online across the state. Volunteer Leaders are available to provide breastfeeding information and support in-person, over the phone, online, and via email. If you have no active group meetings near you please contact any Iowa Leader for support.
